Your ability in being able to arrest attention with your artistic flair will always be your biggest asset. This role will require you to translate relevant strategies into an immersive, creative vision that will engage its intended audience. Good design influences behaviour but great design is 95% invisible. You break rules but you are principled and just as methodical in your approach. Your role is to visualise meaning, you make intelligence visible, and at times, tangible. In a rapid changing, thumb scrolling, attention deficit world, there has never been a bigger need for arresting artistic flair, and empathetic, thoughtful design.

Department summary

"It's just a show!", fairy dust, pull a rabbit out of the hat, curtains close, exit stage left, fade to black. The biggest misconception when it comes to defining creativity is it's synonymous with magic. It's not. Creativity is making connections between variables that didn't seem like they were there. We juxtapose seemingly random elements to create new meaning. Contrary to popular belief, we do not simply "pluck ideas from the air" or pull a rabbit out of a damn hat. As a C27 Creative, you are a champion of empathy. From user experience design to video production, we understand that human beings are ALWAYS the key beneficiaries of our work. We celebrate individualism and personalisation, we are just as weird as how each of our audiences are unique - one size will never fit all. You are a master builder as much as you are an expert assembler. We expect you to be able to tell a story with a camera, just as much as a pen and paper. A "What If-er". requirements

Min 1.5 years of serving creative functions in an organisation or equivalent, T3 majority portfolio OR >RM180k portfolio value, project proposal signatory of up to RM15k, to manage up to 5 junior art directors, intermediate level competency and certification in relevant subject matter (design, copy, user experience, production, content creation, art direction, analytics, social media).

Primary Responsibilities

Marketing & New Business
  • Be involved in new business/pitches.
  • Develop original creative design concepts and approaches that are aligned with the overall brand strategy of the proposals.
Client Management
  • To be able to liaise with tier 4 clients and rationalise creatives (if required)
  • To be able to present creative concepts to tier 4 clients.
Creative Excellence
  • Manage junior designers in the visual development and delivery of creative solutions across multiple clients and platforms.
  • Ensuring the highest quality of work is produced down to the little details that captivate the audience and the client.
  • Championing great ideas & design executions that help bring ideas to life.
  • Championing the rule of no Lorem Ipsum in mockups, it is your duty to ensure that words & visuals are of equal priority in any piece of work. 
  • To be able to articulate and defend conceptual and directional choices. 
  • Review and approve designs, artwork, photography, and graphics developed by other members
  • Lead and/or assist in production shoots (Photo Shoots, Events, Production Houses, etc)
  • Go beyond the conventional ways of working – explore new softwares, art styles, effects & finishes to take our work to the next level
  • Run monthly execution experiments on – Social, Video & Development and use these learnings to produce better work.
Collaborate with Others
  • Contribute in building the target audience persona and playing an avid role in the strategic planning of a project – Objectives, KPI’s, Campaign Roll Outs & etc
  • To be more involved in the planning & development spectrum of development based projects. Part responsible for the overall Website Architecture, User Flow & Front End Experience of these projects.
  • Responsible for coming up with solid art direction that is strategically creative working alongside team members from the Strategy Department on more social-focused projects.
  • Collaborate closely with copywriter during creative development to ensure synergy between copy and design.
Project Management & Coordination
  • Manage and ensure personal and team’s tasks are delivered on time, working closely with Project Management Team.
  • Maintain communications with appropriate internal agencies and client personnel to ensure positive workflow, escalating exceptions and client issues as required.
  • Supervise and oversee quality of work delivered by vendor partners.
  • Review team working processes and style on a daily basis to ensure efficient and effective management of day-to-day tasks
Creative Leadership
  • Inspire & guide Jr Art Directors to improve their craft by introducing them to new methods, shortcuts & inspirations.
  • Effectively manage projects with Jr Art Directors making sure that they meet timelines, produce great work and participate in ideations.
  • Keeping in tune with new and/or current design practices not limited to craft but softwares as well.
  • Regular check-ins with seniors to ensure general happiness and issues are being brought up.
Internal Initiatives
  • To work closely with others to execute & drive internal special projects as initiated by the CEO.
  • Keep an eye to awards/case study work across the C27 portfolio of clients.
  • To consistently improve internal systems for higher productivity and efficiency.

  • To be responsible for the safekeeping and general usage of the Company’s assets in employee possession, and in the usage of Company facilities that are provided.

  • To be dress presentably and to maintain professionalism during client meetings, which reflects the C27 philosophy.

  • To uphold C27’s brand image at all times, during working hours and non-working hours, in-office grounds or out of office grounds.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities
  • You are to constantly and actively observe C27’s culture and practices, putting in efforts to ensure you uplift the Company’s good name.
