Junior Art Director

Reports directly to the Creative Group Head (CGH). 
Job Grade - J5

Your ability to being able to arrest attention with your artistic flair will always be your biggest asset. This role will require you to translate relevant strategies into an immersive, creative vision that will engage it's intended audience. Good design influences behaviour, but great design is 95% invisible. You break the rules, but you are principled and just as methodical in your approach. Your role is to visualise meaning; you make intelligence visible, and at times, tangible. In a rapidly changing, thumb scrolling, attention-deficit world, there has never been a more significant need for arresting artistic flair and empathetic, thoughtful design.

Department summary

The Content & Community team is responsible for the production of content on digital channels, and engaging the community in line with a brand’s voice. The individuals who make up this team are easily the best expression of our multi-disciplinary culture and quest for creative excellence. Services rendered from conceptual paid ads, growing Instagram followers to full-on content production. Our work is seen about 4 billion times in the past year.

requirements

Fresh graduates possessing at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Design, Fine Art or relevant degree or certification. Portfolio composition of T3 majority portfolio OR less than RM100k portfolio value. Advanced knowledge in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and intermediate knowledge in Adobe Premiere and After Effects. Working knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus.

  • Championing the rule of “no Lorem Ipsum” in mockups, you must ensure that words & visuals are of equal priority in any piece of work.

Creative Execution
  • Creates multiple creative solutions for a given brief; provides a point of view (role specific, design/copy) and communicates it to a wider team.
 
  • Responsible for the preparation part before work starts – by gathering all necessary information and materials for the team to kick-start projects in a well-informed manner.
 
  • Plans concepts by studying information and materials.
 
  • Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
 
  • Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
 
  • Prepares finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment; and purchasing from vendors.
 
  • Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.
 
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; and participating in professional societies.
 
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
 
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines and design standards.

  • To uphold C27’s brand image at all times, during working hours and non-working hours, in-office grounds or out of office grounds.

  • You are to constantly and actively observe C27’s culture and practices, putting in efforts to ensure you uplift the Company’s good name.
