Senior Art Director

Reports directly to the Associate Creative Director (ACD). 

Your ability in being able to arrest attention with your artistic flair will always be your biggest asset. This role will require you to translate relevant strategies into an immersive, creative vision to engage its intended audience. Good design influences behaviour, but great design is 95% invisible. You break the rules, but you are principled and just as methodical in your approach. Your role is to visualise meaning; you make intelligence visible, and at times, tangible. In a rapidly changing, thumb scrolling, attention-deficit world, there has never been a more significant need for arresting artistic flair and empathetic, thoughtful design.

Department summary

The Content & Community team is responsible for the production of content on digital channels, and engaging the community in line with a brand’s voice. The individuals who make up this team are easily the best expression of our multi-disciplinary culture and quest for creative excellence. Services rendered from conceptual paid ads,  growing Instagram followers to full-on content production. Our work is seen about 4 billion times in the past year.

requirements

Min 3 years of experience in managing teams or serving creative functions in an organisation or equivalent, T1 majority portfolio OR >RM500k portfolio value, to handle up to 3 Art Directors (J4 & below), advanced level competency and certification in relevant subject matter (design, copy, user experience, production, content creation, art direction, analytics, social media).

  • Championing the rule of “no Lorem Ipsum” in mockups, you must ensure that words & visuals are of equal priority in any piece of work.

Creative Leadership

  • Lead and manage a team of creatives in the development and delivery of creative solutions across multiple clients and platforms.

 

  • Accountable for the final development and production of creative assets. 

 

  • Attention to detail in evaluating creative work.

 

  • (C&C) Lead production shoots (Photo Shoots, Events, Production Houses, etc.)
New Business
  • Directing and developing business proposals.

 

  • Accountable for new business development conversion rate.
Client Management
  • To be able to consult tier 3-4 clients on all things aesthetically related. 

 

  • Presenting creative concepts & pitching design ideas to tier 2 Clients

 

  • Liaising with clients and interpreting their briefs.
Collaborate with Others
  • Encourage discourse and critical thinking in collaborations with others.

 

  • Ensure effective interdepartmental collaboration.
Project Management & Coordination
  • Manage and ensure personal and team’s tasks are delivered on time, working closely with the Project Management Team.

 

  • Being able to advise on hours count, cost estimates and managing execution budget for tier 4 clients.

 

  • Maintain communications with appropriate internal agencies and client personnel to ensure positive workflow, escalating exceptions and client issues as required.

 

  • Supervise and oversee the quality of work delivered by vendor partners.
Creative Leadership
  • Inspire & guide fellow Art Directors, Jr Art Directors and fellow junior creatives to improve their craft and creative thought process, being a secondary mentor.

 

  • Ensure that the team constantly upgrades themselves by achieving related accreditation(s) or Certification(s). 

 

  • Responsible for suggesting new workshops or short courses that will help fellow team members internally. 

 

  • Keeping the creative team in tune with new and current design practices is not limited to craft but software and relevant platforms.

 

  • Regular check-ins to ensure the general health and welfare of the team.
Internal Initiatives
  • To work closely with others to execute & drive special internal projects as initiated by the CEO.

 

  • Keep an eye on case study worthy work across the C27 portfolio of clients.

 

  • Influence the C27 brand.

Other Responsibilities

Responsibilities towards the Company
  • To be responsible for the safekeeping and general usage of the Company’s assets in employee possession, and in the usage of Company facilities that are provided.

 

  • To be dress presentably and to maintain professionalism during client meetings, which reflects the C27 philosophy.

 

  • To uphold C27’s brand image at all times, during working hours and non-working hours, in-office grounds or out of office grounds.
General Responsibilities
  • To adhere to Superior’s directions, instructions, & recommendations.

 

  • To ensure all works are of high quality with little to no errors.

 

  • To ensure reporting of all projects are submitted in a timely manner: with clear contents, a neat format, & transparency in works done.

  • You are to constantly and actively observe C27’s culture and practices, putting in efforts to ensure you uplift the Company’s good name.
