The primary role of the C27 Strategy team is to set direction, then optimise and maximise value to enable digital transformation. Like a hedge fund, we invest the client’s resources (media and marketing budgets) in return for value (profit, engagement, impressions). Through a deep understanding of behavioural psychology, consumer behaviour, compelling insights, and a result-oriented approach, a digital strategist’s fundamental role is to develop a game plan that connects the client’s business to the online consumer or user.

requirements

Min 8 years of experience in serving creative and/or media functions in an organisation or equivalent and had experience managing a team of more than 3 individuals Portfolio composition of T1 majority portfolio OR > RM1mio portfolio value Possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Communications, Media, Statistics, or relevant degree or certification Working knowledge of Facebook, Google, LinkedIn Ad platforms (and other major search, display, video and social tools) Intermediate knowledge of analytical tools such as Google Data Studio, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Excel. Basic knowledge of Google Workspace ( Doc, Sheets, Slides, etc.)

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Excellence
  • Establish a strong understanding of the overall (performance, business intelligence and industrial) market and competitive landscape.  
  • Build a strong understanding of your clients’ business challenges and goals.
  • Take a proactive approach to problem-solving, developing hypotheses and actionable insights from data sets related to everything from eCommerce shopping carts to online video.
  • Understand the client’s audiences, objectives, and priorities, and lead the definition of solutions to meet these needs
  • Provide strategic direction on product, experience, and/or communications initiatives, identifying the key value proposition, consumer needs, and value to the business
  • Identify key opportunities to drive business value and collaborate with clients to add value to their business and educate them on digital marketing excellence.
  • Be proactive, challenge with effective debate, and identify what the agenda for future discussion should be
  • Plan and lead client educational workshops on methodology, approach, industry terms towards performance marketing
  • Craft compelling narratives in presentations and to influence your findings of performance to internal stakeholders and external parties (e.g. agency, vendors or publishers)
Strategy Leadership
  • Mentor, encourage, foster and support intelligent innovation and risk-taking to create and deliver business models that improve the consumer interaction and experience with the product and provide the best financial performance to the business.
  • Create the department’s vision and relay it to team members, aligning with the fundamental organisational values. 
  • Inspire and ensure that the whole experience team produces compelling and industry-leading work.
  • Help lead our talented junior and midweight strategists, including line management responsibilities where possible, taking charge of major projects.
  • Takes a leadership role when working or presenting work to clients 
  • Ensure that you are the source of inspiration for your team.
  • Create a balanced environment for your team to fail safely.
  • Lead and manage a team of strategists in the development and delivery of strategy solutions across multiple clients and platforms.
  • Accountable for the final development and production of strategy assets.

  • Offer client and team members innovative advice and solutions from industry examples and experience
  • Help organize, maintain and oversee strategy standards and guidelines

Digital Transformation
  • Ensuring compliant usage of Teamwork platform within department to mantain company-wide visibility of workload.
  • Owner and stakeholder for respective Strategy Platforms – Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Facebook Ads, TikTok Ads, SimilarWeb, Digimind
Client & Partner Management
  • Build relationships with team members among clients
  • Create plans to address clients’ or C27 business needs
  • Advise clients on creating profitable processes
  • Schedule regular meetings with partners and clients to ensure they are satisfied
  • Act as point of contact for complaints and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Help sales team up-sell or cross-sell services and products
  • Ensure both the company and clients adhere to contract terms
Department Leadership
  • Identify and set department goal and direction that is aligned with Company goals 
  • Assess and report progress in meeting department objectives and generate necessary reports for the leadership teams 
  • Receive, consolidate and analyse report/feedback from team members while also making sure the numbers/data/info is well presented during Leadership meetings 
  • Participate in budget development and monitor the department budget as approved by Management (including on vendors, recruitment, training, internal department events) while keeping the budget to the minimum for the betterment of the Company. 
  • Review, report, direct, ensure and enforce department’s internal processes and/or SOP are in line with company/department playbook and project blueprints. 
  • Monitor, review, report and ensure effective utilization of human resources (including the number of manpower, employee development needs, promotion, project allocation) in order to realize Company goals. 
  • To work together with HoP to create a people strategy and plan that delivers on current and future business objectives.
Signatory Clearance
  • In your role, you are cleared to approve up to RM50,000  transaction of account receivables (sales).
  • You are also cleared to approve up to RM2,000  of account payables (expenses).
Stream P&L and Budget Management
  • To be able to understand the client’s scope of work and produce costs for projects.
  • Monitor and ensure expenditure for projects are kept at amounts as agreed in annual/project budgets.
  • Monitor and ensure expenditure for human resources are kept at amounts as agreed in annual/project budgets.
  • Monitor and ensure projects are always within determined profit margins.

Other Responsibilities

  • To uphold C27’s brand image at all times, during working hours and non-working hours, in-office grounds or out of office grounds.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities
  • You are to constantly and actively observe C27’s culture and practices, putting in efforts to ensure you uplift the Company’s good name.
