Account Director

Work with and manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver digital products.

 

Manage internal and external stakeholders while consistently ensuring that the product is delivered on time and within budget, meeting the set scope of requirements.

 

Play a critical role in ensuring the success of client campaigns and fostering long-term client relationships.

 

Ability to balance client needs with project management efficiency is key to achieving the company’s goals.

Requirements

  1. Min 9-12 years of experience managing a team and serving creative functions in an organisation or equivalent.
  2. Portfolio composition of T1 majority portfolio OR >RM 1milion portfolio value.
  3. Possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Advertising, Design, Management or relevant degree or certification.
  4. Positive and strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  5. Advance competency of project management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at once.
  6. Working knowledge of Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn ad platforms (and other major search, display, search and social tools).
  7. Intermediate knowledge of analytical tools such as Google Data Studio, Taboola and Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of Google Workspace ( Doc, Sheets, Slides, etc.)

Primary Roles & Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  1. Is recognised by other departments as effectively balancing client and C27 demands while still delivering high-impact work.
  2. Engenders trust, leads, and inspires colleagues through passions for clients, their business and the work and thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  3. Is the go-to resource for the team’s concerns, points of view and recommendations, checks in regularly with all team members on a 1:1 basis for ad hoc feedback, and schedules regular program leadership meetings to ensure constant alignment.
  4. Partners with the account leads to have a cohesive and strong leadership team.
  5. Reports into and works with the Client Service Director to ensure communication is clear across the account, issues are escalated, opportunities are identified, and there is consistent leadership across the account.
  6. Able to see both the large picture and small picture when it comes to the holistic goals of the account as well as what is needed on a day-to-day basis

Management Leadership

  1. Play a pivotal role in supporting operational achievements, directly aiding the Account Director in reaching strategic goals.
  2. Supervise the overall execution team on complex digital and social media campaigns.
  3. Maintain a high level of attention to detail in evaluating project work to ensure quality and consistency.
  4. Lead the onboarding and mentorship of new account managers and project managers, fostering their professional growth and integration into the team.
  5. Provide innovative advice and solutions to clients and team members, drawing on extensive industry knowledge and best practices.
  6. Ensure the organization, maintenance, and oversight of project standards and guidelines, promoting excellence and efficiency.
  7. Deliver advanced insights on project briefs and schedules, optimizing project planning and execution.

Department Leadership

  1. Assist the Client Service Director in identifying and setting department goals and direction that are aligned with company goals.
  2. Consolidate and analyze reports/feedback from team members, ensuring the data is well presented for the Client Service Director to present during leadership meetings.
  3. Participate in budget development and monitor the department budget as approved by management (including vendors, recruitment, training, and internal department events) together with the Client Service Director while keeping the budget to a minimum for the company’s betterment.
  4. Review, update, direct, ensure, and enforce the department’s internal processes and/or SOPs to align with the company/department playbook and project blueprints.
  5. Monitor, review, update, and ensure effective utilization of human resources (including the number of personnel, employee development needs, promotions, and project allocation) to realize company goals.
  6. Assist the Client Service Director in working with the Head of People to create a people strategy and plan that delivers on current and future business objectives

Vendor Management

  1. Develop and oversee the strategic vendor database.
  2. Manage and strengthen senior-level vendor relationships.
  3. Conduct strategic negotiations with vendors to secure favorable payment terms and discounts.
  4. Ensure vendor engagement yields superior workflow and output quality, maintaining high client satisfaction.
  5. Oversee the coordination of internal resources and third parties/vendors for seamless project execution.

Client Relationship Management

  1. Successfully grows long-term, trusted relationships with senior-level clients (Directors and below) and leads in securing incremental revenue.
  2. Proactively support retainer, retention and renewal of clients.
  3. Seen as a leader by clients, driven by insight-led thinking and an in-depth knowledge of the client’s business.
  4. Recommends solutions to critical issues facing clients, helps clients establish team structure goals and collaborates on yearly planning.
  5. Owns the pre-sell, maps recommendations to established goals, and educates clients on the benefits/value of the work.
  6. Manage expectations, escalate issues and risks in complex situations, and provide solutions.
  7. Acts as the escalation point for day-to-day clients.
  8. Stay ahead of industry trends and developments, and strategically incorporate this knowledge into our advertising strategies.

Client Growth and Retention

  1. Develop and execute strategies for upselling and cross-selling services to high-value clients.
  2. Lead efforts to expand the agency’s portfolio of services with each client, focusing on strategic growth.
  3. Ensure exceptional client satisfaction and retention rates through executive relationship management and strategic oversight.
  4. Serve as the primary point of contact and senior advisor for major clients, deeply understanding their needs and objectives.
  5. Collaborate with clients to define, align, and achieve clear campaign goals and KPIs, ensuring strategic success.

Platform Management

  1. Maintain capacity and productivity report and ensure accuracy.
  2. Avoid repetitive work, optimise and automate processes wherever necessary.
  3. Monitoring team utilising of Hubspot to ensure quotation and invoice is produced on time and accurately.

New Business Conversion

  1. Supporting and developing business proposals.
  2. Accountable to participate in pitches and new business and working closely with the project teams and produce work in a manner that increases the chances of closing the deal.

Stream P&L and Budget Management with Client Service Director

  1. To understand the client’s scope of work and produce costs for projects.
  2. Monitor and ensure project expenditures are kept at amounts as agreed in annual/project budgets.
  3. Monitor and ensure expenditures for human resources are kept at amounts as agreed in annual/project budgets.
  4. Monitor and ensure projects are always within determining profit margins.
  5. Manage and allocate budgets effectively to maximise ROI for clients.
  6. Provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting to clients.
  7. Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies.

Internal Initiatives

  1. To work closely (when selected) to execute & drive internal special projects as initiated by the CEO.
  2. To ensure the brand image (visually) of C27 is consistent throughout while working with the internal branding team.

Other Responsibilities

Responsibilities towards the Company

  1. To be responsible for the safekeeping and general usage of the Company’s assets in employee possession and Company facilities provided.
  2. To be dressed presentably and to maintain professionalism during client meetings.
  3. To uphold C27’s brand image at all times, during working and non-working hours, in-office or out-of-office grounds.

Miscellaneous Responsibilities

  1. You constantly observe C27’s culture and practices, working to uplift the Company’s good name.
