Associate Account Director

Purpose — Trendsetter, stylist, anarchist. The aesthetic & experiential front line of the C27 collective.

Purpose — Responsible for building and maintaining positive client relationships for the agency. Our team works with clients to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges, and provides the necessary resources, personnel and budgets to create and manage successful campaigns. We use data and market trends to inform and influence strategy, and our creative and analytical mindsets to ensure deadlines and budgets are met. Additionally, we review campaigns to ensure quality and consistency in order to deliver results that meet the client’s objectives. Our team strives to create an environment of trust and collaboration, in order to guarantee success for our clients and businesses.

Requirements

  1. At least 7-8 years of experience in advertising account management, including managing teams, preferably in a similar role

  2. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field.

  3. Portfolio composition of T1 majority portfolio OR >RM 1 million portfolio value.

  4. Positive and strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.

  5. Advance competency of project management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at once.

  6. Strong understanding of the advertising industry and the ability to stay up-to-date with trends and developments.

  7. Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned clients.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities

Account Management

  1. Lead and manage the development and maintenance of strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for more significant accounts.

  2. Understand clients’ advertising needs, objectives, and challenges to develop effective campaigns.

  3. Lead and manage collaboration with internal teams, including creative, media, and vendors, to ensure the highest level of campaign execution and client satisfaction.

  4. Oversee the development and monitoring of budgets, timelines, and action plans, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and timely delivery.

  5. Prepare and deliver high-impact presentations to clients, articulating strategic insights, creative solutions, and campaign results effectively.

  6. Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate this knowledge into advertising strategies.

  7. Create and present detailed, strategic progress and performance reports, providing high-level insights and recommendations to drive client success and satisfaction.

Client Relationship Management

  1. Lead the building and maintenance of strong client relationships. Act as a senior consultant to provide advanced insights for the clients.

  2. Ensure a thorough understanding of client needs, requirements, and project constraints (schedule, scope, resources) and provide strategic direction to the internal team.

  3. Oversee the management of client expectations on work scope, deliveries, and limitations to ensure client satisfaction and project success.

  4. Ensure all client approvals and sign-offs are obtained according to the timeline, preventing delays or overruns in work deliveries.

  5. Oversee collaboration with internal teams, including creative and media, to ensure advertising campaigns are executed effectively.

  6. Stay ahead of industry trends and developments, and strategically incorporate this knowledge into our advertising strategies.

  7. Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and collaborate with the Account Director to secure new advertising accounts.

Management Leadership

  1. Play a significant role in supporting the Account Director in operational achievements.

  2. Maintain a high level of attention to detail in evaluating project work.

  3. Lead the onboarding and mentorship of new account managers and project managers.

  4. Offer innovative advice and solutions to clients and team members based on extensive industry knowledge.

  5. Ensure the organization, maintenance, and oversight of project standards and guidelines.

  6. Deliver detailed insights on project briefs and schedules.

Team Leadership

  1. Is recognised by other departments as effectively balancing client and C27 demands while still delivering high-impact work

  2. Engenders trust, leads, and inspires colleagues through passions for clients, their business and the work and thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

  3. Is the go-to resource for the team’s concerns, points of view and recommendations, checks in regularly with all team members on a 1:1 basis for ad hoc feedback, and schedules regular program leadership meetings to ensure constant alignment

  4. Partners with the Sr Account Manager and Account Manager to have a cohesive and strong leadership team.

  5. Reports into and works with the Account Director/Client Service Director to ensure communication is clear across the account, issues are escalated, opportunities are identified, and there is consistent leadership across the account.

  6. Able to see both the large picture and small picture when it comes to the holistic goals of the account as well as what is needed on a day-to-day basis.

Resource Planning and Management

  1. Plan and manage the team’s workload on a daily and weekly basis, ensuring a balance of workload across.

  2. Plan project teams’ allocation for proposals and new projects, targeting 6 months visibility.

  3. Ensure resource availability by utilising tools such as Teamwork.

  4. Ensure milestones are created and updated as the project moves along.

Campaign Execution

  1. Lead the execution of complex digital and social media campaigns.

  2. Monitor campaign performance, analyze data, and develop strategic recommendations for optimization.

  3. Ensure all campaigns are on-brand and aligned with client messaging.

  4. Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on campaign execution and analysis.

Vendor Management

  1. Build a comprehensive database and maintain strong relationships with all vendors.

  2. Able to negotiate with vendors on payment terms and additional discounts (when necessary) to meet margins.

  3. Ensure C27 keeps a healthy database of vendors at all times: constantly engaging with vendors to ensure workflow and work output is of high quality and efficiency – ensuring client satisfaction at all times.

  4. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

Client Growth and Retention

  1. Identify and implement strategic initiatives for upselling and cross-selling services to existing clients.

  2. Drive efforts to expand the agency’s portfolio of services with each client, ensuring alignment with client needs.

  3. Ensure high client satisfaction and retention rates through strategic relationship management and value delivery.

  4. Serve as the primary point of contact and consultant for key clients, understanding and anticipating their needs and objectives.

  5. Collaborate with clients to define and refine campaign goals and KPIs, ensuring strategic alignment and success.

Platform Management

  1. Ensure all projects are broken down to milestones and tasks via Teamwork.

  2. Reducing lead time between brief to task assignment targeting < 4 hours.

  3. Manage and nurture low level data to aid into department level reporting under performance marketing platform/dashboard.

  4. Maintain capacity and productivity report and ensure accuracy.

  5. Avoid repetitive work, optimise and automate processes wherever necessary.

  6. Utilising Hubspot proactive to ensure quotation and invoice is produced on time and accurately.

New Business Conversion

  1. Support and developing business proposals.

  2. Accountable for new pitches conversion rate, working closely with the Business Development Team to shape project teams and produce work in a manner that increases the chances of closing the deal – meaning, within reason and context, you are expected to collaborate with your creative leaders to make well-informed decisions to either stick closely to the brief or go against it to give the company the biggest chances of winning the business.

Internal Initiatives

  1. To work closely (when selected) to execute & drive internal special projects as initiated by the CEO.

  2. To ensure the brand image (visually) of C27 is consistent throughout while working with the internal branding team.

Other Responsibilities

  3. To adhere to the superior’s directions, instructions, & recommendations.

  4. Ensure all works produced are of high quality with little to no errors.

  5. Ensure all projects are submitted promptly, with precise contents and clean format.

Responsibilities towards the Company

  1. To be responsible for the safekeeping and general usage of the Company’s assets in employee possession and Company facilities provided.

  2. To be dressed presentably and to maintain professionalism during client meetings.

  3. To uphold C27’s brand image at all times, during working and non-working hours, in-office or out-of-office grounds.

Miscellaneous Responsibilities

  1. You constantly observe C27’s culture and practices, working to uplift the Company’s good name.
